Key features include:
- Talk to me: Users can now speak to Meta AI and it will talk back. Simply press down on the waveform button to ask a question and let Meta AI explain something you’re curious about. As this feature starts to roll out, users will also be able to choose from different voice options, including from celebrities around the world.
- Look at this: Users can now send a photo to Meta AI and get answers about the world around them. For example, they can take a picture of a menu in a foreign language and ask for a translation, or take a picture of a plant and ask how to take care of it.
- Edit my photo: Meta AI can now help users edit their own photos, such as adding, removing, or changing something. For example, users can remove a random stranger from the background or change colors on an object to see something in a new light.
Meta is also expanding its business AIs, so more people will get faster service when talking to a business. This feature is starting with thousands of businesses using the WhatsApp Business app and will expand over the coming year.

Here’s how it works: Businesses can connect Business AI through the WhatsApp Business app. Once connected, the AI can handle a range of tasks based on the information provided by the business. This includes:
- Answering basic questions: Customers can get information about business hours, location, product details, and pricing directly from the AI.
- Recommending products: Businesses can set up the AI to suggest relevant products or services based on past interactions or customer profiles.
- Handling order details: The AI can answer questions about discounts, payment options, and shipping information.
However, it’s important to note that Business AI will be designed to complement, not replace, human interaction.
“Businesses can manually respond to messages at any time, and the AI will stop generating responses. Additionally, Meta will collect messages from chats with connected Business AI to improve its AI technology, even when the business mutes the AI. Businesses that choose to disconnect Business AI will no longer be sharing their messages with Meta,” Meta noted in its FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) segment.
Transparency is key. When a customer starts interacting with a business using Business AI, they will receive a notification informing them that AI is used to improve communication and generate responses. This message also clarifies that Meta may utilize information from these chats to enhance its AI capabilities.
While Business AI offers numerous benefits, it’s crucial to remember that AI-generated messages might not always be accurate or fully appropriate. Businesses are encouraged to monitor their AI performance and provide feedback to Meta for continued improvement.
