M-KOPA Kenya, a subsidiary of the leading Pan-African fintech M-KOPA, has surpassed 3 million customers in Kenya.
The company’s 2024 Impact Report dubbed, “Pathways to Progress,” reveals that M-KOPA Kenya has made its greatest impact in Kenya out of the Group’s five markets and 5 million customers reached across Africa.
The report highlights M-KOPA Kenya’s contribution to the Kenyan economy, stating that the company has created more than 16,000 jobs and contributed Ksh17.2 billion in direct and indirect taxes since inception.
“M-KOPA created employment opportunities for 16,000 Kenyans, including: 1600 full time employees across Kenya and provided 325 new jobs since 2023 in M-KOPA’s local smartphone assembly factory, primarily for youth and first-time job seekers. M-KOPA forecasts to increase the number of jobs at the factory to 500 in 2025. Also, M-KOPA has over 14,000 paid sales agents, with a target of growing that number to 20,000 by the end of 2025,” the report states.
The firm offers financial inclusion through affordable access to smartphones, digital loans, data, free hospital cover, and financing for e-motorbikes.
Additionally, the company empowers Kenyans who have historically been excluded from accessing traditional financial services.

M-KOPA Kenya’s key achievements include reaching over 3 million customers, creating employment opportunities for 16,000 Kenyans, contributing over Ksh17.2 billion in taxes to the Kenya Revenue Authority, launching the first M-KOPA branded smartphone, producing over 1.5 million smartphones through the local assembly factory and financing over 1500 e-motorbikes.
The company’s solutions have been particularly impactful for “Every Day Earners” who can build a credit history and unlock financial opportunities through M-KOPA Kenya’s flexible repayment model.
The 2024 Impact Report underscores the M-KOPA Group’s success, with 92% of customers reporting that M-KOPA’s financing made technology more affordable, 80% saying their quality of life improved, and 62% using M-KOPA’s products to generate income.
