Airtel Money Kenya Strengthens Agent Network Through Partnership with Naivas Supermarket

Airtel Money Kenya has entered into a partnership with Naivas Supermarket, enabling Airtel Money customers to deposit and withdraw cash at Naivas branches nationwide.

This initiative is part of Airtel Money’s strategic effort to broaden its agent network and enhance customer accessibility.

During the signing ceremony, Airtel Money Managing Director, Anne Kinuthia-Otieno stated that the collaboration will significantly support their mission to improve access to financial services via their Mobile Money platform.

“Today represents a major milestone for us as we partner with Naivas Supermarket to bring greater convenience to our customers. This collaboration highlights Airtel Money’s commitment to expanding our reach and ensuring our services are easily accessible. By offering cash deposit and withdrawal services at Naivas branches across the country, we are not only strengthening our presence but also reaffirming our dedication to delivering seamless and affordable financial solutions through our Mobile Money platform,” said Ms Otieno.

Customers using Naivas branches will also benefit from free withdrawal services as part of the ongoing ‘Rudishiwa Transaction Fee Campaign.’

Launched in December last year, this campaign refunds withdrawal transaction fees as Airtel Airtime for every withdrawal made.

For example, if a customer withdraws Kes 1,000 and incurs a Kes 25 withdrawal fee, they will receive Kes 25, which can be used for airtime, data bundles, or SMS.

Airtel Kenya Managing Director, Ashish Malhotra emphasized the significance of the partnership in aligning with the company’s goal to prioritize customer convenience.

“With our expanding network, this partnership with Naivas Supermarket is timely and aligns perfectly with our mission to deliver unmatched convenience. At Airtel Kenya, we are focused on ensuring access and affordability for all our customers, and strategic collaborations like this are key to achieving that,” said Mr Malhotra.

Naivas Chief of Operations, Peter Mukuha, expressed excitement about the partnership, which he said enhances customer experience and accessibility.

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with Airtel Money, allowing our customers to easily deposit and withdraw cash at all 109 Naivas branches. This collaboration improves accessibility and empowers our customers with seamless financial services. It aligns with our mission to make people’s lives better. Our partnership with Airtel Money exemplifies this commitment, ensuring smooth and convenient financial transactions. We are proud to demonstrate our dedication to improving the lives of our customers through this collaboration,” said Mr Mukuha.

Airtel Money Kenya remains dedicated to building a robust network of agents and looks forward to forging more strategic partnerships with key stakeholders in the near future.
