Threads, Meta’s social media application, has achieved a significant milestone, accumulating 300 million users, with over 100 million using the platform every day.
Meta boss,Mark Zuckerberg announced this achievement on Threads, declaring, “Threads’ strong momentum continues.”
Mr Zuckerberg has repeatedly expressed confidence that Threads has a “good chance” of becoming Meta’s next app to reach a billion users.
Although it hasn’t reached that goal yet, its growth appears to be speeding up.
Threads reached 100 million users last fall and then jumped to 275 million by the beginning of November.
Highlighting its widespread adoption, Apple reported that Threads was the second most frequently downloaded app of 2024, surpassed only by the shopping application Temu, which ranked first in Apple’s charts.
The future holds potential major changes for Threads. Also, Meta is planning to begin testing advertisements on Threads in early 2025.
