Airtel has teamed up with Mastercard to introduce the Airtel Money GlobalPay Card in Uganda, a move aimed at expanding digital payment options for its users.
According to the telco, this new payment solution is designed to give Airtel Money customers seamless access to global online marketplaces, enhancing their ability to make secure international transactions.
With this partnership, 150 million Airtel mobile phone users across 14 African countries can now connect to Mastercard’s extensive global merchant network.
“This collaboration ensures that Airtel Money users can make safer and more convenient payments while shopping online,” the telco stated.
The Airtel Money GlobalPay Card functions as a virtual payment solution that users can link directly to their Airtel Money wallets.
It supports a variety of transactions across major global online platforms, including Facebook, Netflix, and Uber, among others.
