Airtel Africa has teamed up with three renowned African artists—Fally Ipupa from the Democratic Republic of Congo, Diamond Platnumz from Tanzania, and Simi from Nigeria—to enhance customers’ digital experiences through smarter data usage.
This partnership introduces an innovative way to educate users on optimizing their data bundles for everyday activities like browsing, streaming, and accessing essential apps.
The collaboration features a special song created by the artists in partnership with Airtel Africa, offering practical tips and tools for smarter data management.
This initiative forms part of Airtel Africa’s #SmartaWithData campaign, which focuses on empowering customers to “GET smarter data settings, SET smarter data speeds, and GO #SmartaWithData” for a more fulfilling digital journey.
Currently active in seven countries—Kenya, Nigeria, Uganda, Tanzania, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), Zambia, and Malawi—the campaign targets young users aged 18–35.
By combining education and entertainment, Airtel aims to make data management more accessible and relatable to its audience.
Commenting on the campaign, Airtel Africa’s Chief Marketing and Sales Officer, Rohit Marwha, said, “Our goal with this campaign is to ensure that our customers get the most out of Airtel data bundles, thereby enhancing their online experience. Collaborating with these artists, who our customers love and engage with on a daily basis, ensures that they are aware of these data hacks, and they can seamlessly adopt usage and management of their data through clear messages that resonate with them. At Airtel Africa, our priority is in creating exceptional customer experiences with our products and services.”
The edutainment campaign encourages customers to share their own tips and tricks for smarter data use while taking advantage of the tools provided by Airtel Africa.
Data bundles are easily accessible via USSD, Airtel Lite, or the MyAirtel App, making it simple for customers to stay connected.
